Create Application Group and assign them to users


To Create Application Group and assign them to users in (Azure Virtual Desktop) involves the following steps:

Create Application Group and assign them to users


Prerequisite:  Must have the Configured Host pool in advance.

Step 1: Create an Application Group

  • Login to Azure Portal >> Search >> Azure Virtual Desktop


  • Click on Azure Virtual Desktop  >> Application Group >> Click on existing Application Group



  • Click on Assignment  >>  Click on Add  >> Select User  >> Who want application application 
  • Click on Application groups  >>  Click on Create  >> Select Subscription  >> Select Resource Group >> Host Pool >> Location >> Application Group Type >> Remote >> Application Group Name --> AVD-AVG-01 >> Next:  Applications

To assign the application please follow the below steps:





  • Click on Add Applications  >>  Application Source --> Start Menu >> Application --> Select the required application(which you want to assign to user)  >> Display Name >> Save >> Next: Assignment



  • Click on Add Azure AD users or user groups  >>  Select the user >> Click on Select >> Next: Workspace 

  • Register application group  >>  Yes >>  Register application group >> Application Group Name Visible >> Click on Review + Create >> Create


  • Wait for deployment completion >> Once Deployment Complete >> Click on Applications and verify the application.
